Congratulations Runners, walkers and supporters for participating in the 18th International Women’s Day Fun Run/Walk 2009. This year over 6,500 women participated in the 5k Brisbane Road Runners International Women's Day Fun Run/Walk 2009.

Sadly many of you will know someone..... a family member, friend, work associate or acquaintance who have been affected by Breast cancer. Some may have been diagnosed and overcome this terrible disease, whilst others may have paid the ultimate price.

This year we dedicated the 2009 IWDFR to Kerryn McCann, who passed away last year after losing her battle with Breast cancer. Kerryn was a Mother, Wife, Daughter, Friend and accomplished athlete who fought and lost her battle with breast cancer. Thank you Krishna Stanton for helping to bring your story and that of Kerryn's to the event.

To those of you who have enjoyed participating in our event, you don't have to wait until next year to run with us. Why don't you join us at one of our BRRClub events which are held Sunday every two weeks at the South Brisbane Sailing Club starting from 6:00am - you will be made very welcome and you don't have to be a member to participate.
