We have 2 events on 11 September and the theme is GREEN:

1K Toddlethon

T
est your renewable energy on a 1K toddle round the garden with Iggle Piggle and Fifi Flower Tot!  The race starts promptly at 2pm on the lower lawn so get there nice and early to warm up with Iggle Piggle at 1.45pm!
Open to all children under the age of 5 with accompanying adults. No charge for accompanying adults.

5K Scramble

Enjoy the challenge of our three-loop route through woods, over streams, across meadowland, up and down gravel paths and past Betty’s Tea Rooms onto lush lawned areas.  The Garden Run promises to be probably the most beautiful 5K* you will ever experience!
Get there early – the warm up starts at 6.15pm on the lower lawn and the run starts at 6.30pm.

(1Km and 5K are approximate distances)
Spot prizes at both events for outfits with a green theme!

Please note: Race numbers and route maps will be posted out on 4th September. If you register for either event after 4th September, please arrive on the day half an hour before the warm up to collect your race number.
Online registration is open up until midnight on Thursday 10th September.
Warm up for Toddlethon: 1.45pm.
Warm up for 5K scramble: 6.15pm.

The Royal Horticultural Society is currently building a carbon-neutral Learning Centre and Library at Harlow Carr.

This new educational resource will provide up to 10,000 schoolchildren a year with the opportunity to share the RHS’ passion for plants, learn about environmental conservation and experience the future of sustainable energy using natural resources.

The RHS vision is that this carbon neutral building will become a national exemplar of sustainable development using the thermal properties of the site, renewable energy sources, the use of rainwater, sunlight, natural ventilation and an imaginative response to biodiversity.

We have raised thousands of pounds already but still have approximately £600,000 to go to meet our target of £3M. Thank you for your support and we hope you have fun running (or toddling) round our Garden on 11th September!

Harlow Carr would like to thank our media partners: Harrogate Advertiser and race partner Up and Running, Harrogate.
