CONGRATULATIONS TO MARK TUCKER AND SARA BURGESS FOR TAKING OUT THE 1ST MALE AND FEMALE IN A TIME OF 2:27:33 AND 2:51:11 RESPECTIVELY. Mark has placed second in 2 previous years, so it was well deserved. Sara was also placed second last year and just edged out Magda.

The 2013 Westlink M7 Cities Marathon will be held on
Sunday 28 July. The marathon will be supported by the Marathon Relay Challenge (21.1km x 2) and Kids Marathon Series (2.195km).
 
The Marathon will incorporate the Sydney Marathon Clinic Amateur Athletic Club Race Championship. Race start time is 7.00am from Ash Road, Prestons which is adjacent to the Liverpool City Robins Football Club. The nearest major cross road is Camden Valley Way, Prestons.

2013 will be the 8th year the Cities is held on the Westlink M7 shared pathway from Prestons to Rooty Hill. It is point to point with 1 turn around at the 32.5km mark. Starting at Prestons (Liverpool City, NSW) participants will travel through the following suburbs; Hinchinbrook, Hoxton Park, West Hoxton, Cecil Park, Horsley Park, Eastern Creek, Rooty Hill, Glendenning, Plumpton, Oakhurst & Quakers Hill. 
Blacktown International Sports Park is the finish venue (athletics facility) for the race.

The 42.195 km course is Athletics Australia Certified Accurate and the event is a member of 
AIMS (Association of International Marathons & Distance Races.

The marathon course is an undulating path, which is sealed and uninterupted for the 42.195km journey. The steepest section of the course starts from the 7km mark with a gradual incline to the 11km mark.

FUNDRAISING

The Official Race Charity is the Childrens Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA). A fundraising page will be set-up soon for runners, family and friends to donate online. Please support the CCIA. For more information click on the logo to be directed to the CCIA website.

SPECTATOR AREAS ON COURSE

During the race, please do not stop on the Westlink M7 Motorway to watch the race. There are some spectator areas to watch the race and they are as follows;

1. Ash Road, Prestons - Race Start.
2. Wilson Road, Hinchinbrook.
3. Church Street, Rooty Hill.
4. Station Street, Rooty Hill.
5. Florence Street, Oakhurst.
6. Woodley Cres, Glendenning.
7. Symonds Road, Dean Park.
8. Blacktown International Sports Park, Eastern Road, Rooty Hill (Finish).
