The Jubilee River is a man made flood relief channel cutting the corner off the River Thames between Boulters Lock nr Maidenhead and Pococks Lane in Eton, and the distance in between is 10km! Along the length of the Jubilee River there are three weirs that swimmers must avoid, so in getting out to go around the weirs you'll only need to swim 9.5k :-) The weirs make the perfect place for our fabulous feed stations along the way and break up the course nicely into four segments, making up our relay event.
The 2017 Jubilee River Swim format is slightly different from previous years, so check out the Swim Instructions HERE.
Jubilee Swim HQ is at the Thames Valley Athletics Centre near Eton. Instructions for TVAC are here.
At swim HQ you can find the registration on swim day, toilets, showers and refreshments. The pre-swim transport leaves from the main TVAC car park.
Swim car parking and registration for Waves 1, 2 & 3 are at TVAC, whilst car parking for Wave 4 is at Taplow Football Club, Berry Hil, Taplow, SL6 0DA. Wave 4 registration is near the swim start.
Swim Times & Groups
We have four swim groups, starting at 9.30am, 10am, 10.30am & 10.45am respectively. The first group will be for the swimmers with slower predicted times, with the fastest swimmers in group 4. Swim groups and your start times will be confirmed on Friday May 26th.
Water Temperature & Wetsuits
For the five years of the Jubilee River Swim, water temperature has been between 13.9 & 16.7 degrees. The swim isn’t wetsuit compulsory, whilst the majority will use a wetsuit we appreciate skins swimmers will want to go without; you’ll be asked about this whilst entering.
